Ongoing research is an important part of understanding any complex subject and Adult Education is no exception. In North America, adults are more and more aware of the personal growth and enjoyment they can achieve throughout life as they continue to learn new things, either formally or informally. How and what adults learn and what that means is a broad field and there are many areas that are still to be researched and understood. |

It is my belief that the family is the first arena where we all develop our sense of self, relationship, and community. If we work at helping families create and maintain peaceful communities at home, those practices will naturally ripple out into our society. My current research involves investigating Indigenous learning systems in West Africa, and my particular area of interest is in the relationships developed between parents and children. Across cultures, there is much information to be learned and exchanged. I'm interested in learning from parents' experiences and finding ways, through coaching, to share those experiences with others in Canada. |
